What is REACH?
REACH is the abbreviation of REGULATION concerning the Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals, which was established by the European Union and implemented on June 1, 2007. Regulatory system.
 
What is SVHC?
Substances of very high concern (SVHC). SVHC is established according to Article 59(10) of REACH regulation. The first SVHC list was published on October 28, 2008, and the list has been updated several times to include new candidates. The most recent update took place in July 2021 and included a total of 219 SVHCs.

What is Appendix XVII?
Annex XVII of the EU REACH Regulation, "Restrictions On The Manufacture, Placing On The Market And Use Of Certain Dangerous Substances, Mixtures And Articles", restrictions on the manufacture, placing on the market and use of certain dangerous substances, preparations and articles, commonly referred to as For the list of restricted substances, it is an important obligation for items other than SVHC.

What needs to be notified?
The REACH Regulation Annex XIV Candidate List is the SVHC list. The REACH Regulation stipulates that for substances of very high concern (SVHC) that meet the following two conditions, the manufacturer or importer of the article should notify ECHA:
● The total content of SVHC substances in articles exceeds 1t/y/manufacturer or importer;
● The total content of SVHC substances in the article exceeds the concentration of 0.1% in terms of mass fraction.
 
Who needs SVHC notification?
● EU manufacturers
● EU importer
● Non-EU producers (must be commissioned by an only representative OR)
 
SCIP requirements?
From January 5, 2021, articles with substances of very high concern (SVHC) content exceeding 0.1% must be submitted to the EU market for SCIP notification. and determine its location in complex objects.
